Cottages don't have air conditioners, televisions, radios, or telephones. Ceiling fans and multiple wood louvers provide cooling options.
Copper sconces, white drapes, and white netting suspended from ceilings for draping beds contribute contemporary touches to simple, rustic decor that includes wood-platform beds, wood-beamed walls and peaked ceilings, and dark-wood floors. Tile bathrooms include open showers (no tubs) and doors leading to veranda sections with twig screens so guests can bathe privately in fresh air.
